Presented by the National Center to Reframe Aging and sponsored by The John A. Hartford Foundation, the Reframing Aging Journalism & Culture Impact Awards recognize excellence in reporting and storytelling that shape how aging is understood. The awards honor journalists, editors, storytellers, and organizations advancing accurate, productive narratives that counter stereotypes and reflect meaningful lives as we age.
These awards honor transformative work in two categories:
Journalism Award
Honors a journalistic work that demonstrates exceptional commitment to reframing aging. This may include investigative reporting, feature writing, or editorial journalism that moves beyond stereotypes to present authentic, diverse, and compelling narratives that reflect the full spectrum of aging experiences.
Organization Award
Recognizes a community-based organization, nonprofit, advocacy group, health care institution, academic institution, governmental agency, or cultural institution that has implemented innovative programs, campaigns, or initiatives that successfully shift narratives about aging. This may include organizations adopting age-inclusive policies, organizations running public awareness campaigns, or institutions creating cultural programming that celebrates aging.
